The Roosters are looking at back to back premierships when they play in the 2017 BDAFL Black Diamond Plate Grand Final on Saturday.
The team is pumped and are ready to fly the flag high and bring another premiership cup home to Singleton.
This years grand final is a rematch from last years thriller, when the Rooster claimed victory by 27 points.
Maitland have been one of the Roosters main rivals in recent history. Each time the teams have met they have been highly competitive games with narrow margins. Both games this season have gone Singletons way, winning by 14pts in round 3 and 27 pts in round 17 and the men will be out to repeat on Saturday.
The path to the grand final has been a little tougher this year for the Roosters, having come from third. They have had to win all games in the finals and haven’t had the luxury of a weeks break like previous grand final appearances.
The Roosters met Newcastle City in the first semis and smashed them to advance. In the prelims last weekend the Roosters ran over the bigger boys of Wyong in a stellar 2nd half performance to win by 28 points. They go into the game strong and confident that they will again produce their best.
The squad looks strong all over the ground and a final 22 has yet to be determined. A big loss from the team is the gun backman Mitchell Gaffney, out with collar bone injury. The full team will be announced on Friday and the best of the Roosters will be presented.
