The weekend gone saw both the cup and womens sides keep their winning record against Lake Macquarie. Both teams had convincing wins on Saturday in good preparation coming up to finals footy.
The Roosterettes lead all game but had to work hard for the win after their poor kicking saw them convert just 2 goals for 12 attempts by the third quarter. Late goals by Natasha Nester and Jade Moody allowed them to charge ahead to win the match 42-16. Captain Tori Cowburn lead the way, well supported by Jade Moody, Bree Howard, Rebekah Jones and Lynan Scott.
It was a great round celebrating women in footy, and having the Roosterettes come away with a win was the perfect way to reflect on just how much progress the team has made over the last year and what they have achieved. Our club is extremely proud of them and we love being able to celebrate our women in the game.
First grade were 131 point victors over Lake Macquarie. It was a dominant performance kicking eleven goals to one in the first half in a effort that boosted our percentage to 103.55. Percentage could be very important for us at the end of the season with the round 18 bye.
