Unfortunately our Ressies didn’t get a game on the weekend with Gosford pulling out on Friday.
Women’s was an important game for us. Since slipping outside the top 7 we needed to win to keep our season alive. We dominated the game early utilising space around the ground as Gosford were unable to field a full side. Captain courageous Tori Cowburn bagged the opening goal in the first minute and Bree Howard added 2 of her own in the first quarter. Following some injuries, Gosford were forced to forfeit at half time with team numbers falling short of the minimum required 12 players. Due to the forfeit the final score is recorded as a 120-0 win. The win moves us into 7th position just ahead of Warners Bay by points percentage.
First grade enjoyed their 5 goal victory over Gosford and have secured 5th position, making finals in our first year back into Cup division. It was great to see Mitchell Gaffney return for his first game back following the broken jaw he suffered in round 3. He has been working hard off field in preparation for this match and didn’t disappoint.
