Singleton Roosters Club Update

We hope everyone’s enjoying their summertime pursuits and recharging their footy batteries.  Although the first game is months away we’d like to share some club updates with you.

Our AGM was held on the 21st of October and a new committee elected for 2018/9.  Although we had some hard-working and long-serving members step down from their posts, we did fill all positions with some fantastic and motivated clubpeople.  A massive thankyou to Andrew Thornberry (former Junior Vice President), Dayna Rohan (former Treasurer), Paul Kelly & Peter Kolatchew (former Committee Members) who have stepped down for this year but we’re sure will still be around to help out and support wherever they can. Thanks heaps guys.

The mantle has been handed over to the new committee who have already started on the many tasks required to make sure we’re raring to go come April 2019.  Congratulations and thank you to the new committee:

Top row (L-R): Mitchell Gaffney (Treasurer), Joel Deacon (Senior Vice President), Nadene McBride (President), Simon Trickey (Junior Vice President), Sarah Williams (Secretary).

Bottom row (L-R) Committee Members: Amy Borg, Zara Boyce, Paul Chandler, Ben Jamieson, Jake Mellon, Marcus Rowe.

We’re thrilled to announce that Andrew “Chiz” Scott has been re-appointed Senior Men’s Coach for the 2019 season.  After a fantastic first year back in the top flight in 2019, the sublimely skilled Chiz is looking forward to getting back out there and building on that performance.  Another of our gun midfielders, Alex “Pup” Mitchell has been appointed as Senior Men’s Assistant Coach, who will also take responsibility for leading the Reserve Grade side from the boundary on Saturdays.  We wish both men all the best, with other team management roles to be announce closer to the start of the season.

After two years at the helm, Andrew MacPherson is stepping away from the Women’s Coach position, which presents a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and positive football person to move into this role and keep the Roosterettes on their upward trajectory.  If you’re keen or know someone who is please flick an email to or give the Senior VP a call on 0488 721 985.

In closing, an announcement that senior pre-season training will commence on Tuesday 27th November.  All senior men & women players, as well as our older juniors and anyone who is interested in joining our great club, are welcome. Fitness will be the main aim until Christmas.  Details are as follows:
Days:   Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time:   from 6.30pm
Place:  Rose Point Park

We’d love to see you there!
