UPDATE: Roosters dominate first leg of MCG challenge with 301km effort

The opening leg of the Singleton Roosters’ run, walk and ride to the MCG has been declared a success by senior president Nadene McBride after 29 club members combined for a distance of 301km.

The club has until 5pm on Sunday to reach the final target of 1075km.

“It has been an awesome start to the challenge,” she said on Friday.

“We have already virtually made it to Mittagong, NSW just past Wollongong.”

This challenge comes one fortnight after the club covered a combined 634.9km distance to West Ballina on the Strava App.

“We have decided to give you all extra time to complete this challenge,” she added.
