The Singleton Roosterettes were unable to capture a dream start when facing a 3.7 (25) to 3.4 (22) defeat to Lake Macquarie this afternoon.
While the home side were able to welcome back captain Tori Cowburn and gun recruit Ray Chapman, playing coach Nadene McBride admits the side would still lack depth in the game’s final passages.
“I’m not kidding, we had five girls go down injured,” she revealed.
“But they still kept trying and I couldn’t be prouder.”
